When you first see the Bogey Hole, its hard not to be in awe. But when you see the waves crashing and realise that this ocean pool was cut by convicts in the 1800's, it takes that awe to a whole new level.
Originally called "Commandants Baths" - constructed forCommandant Morisset personal use - it was more recently renamed "Bogey Hole", which comes from the indigenous word for 'to bathe'.

Take a meander up the weaving stairs, or if you're in need of a wake-up, run to the top. Once perched on the cliff-top, stop to breath in the sea air.
Every time I walk across the ANZAC Memorial bridge I feel invigorated. You are literally on top of Newcastle, with 360 degree views stretching down the coast, across all of Newcastle, and the harbour.

Walking past this building, you can't help but take a second look. The super large window openings facing the street, stark white and bright yellow interior. At first it looks a little out of place, but I highly recommend pulling up a stool and sitting at the window bench to watch the world go by. Both the pork and chicken ramen options here were delicious!
ICE CREAM: Popolo Gelateria

I do love a good ice cream, so it needs to be something pretty incredible to get my attention, but the vegan options here are in a league of their own - the best we have tried! In particular they had a mint choc chip, creme caramel and strawberry on rotation (and yes, we did go there more than once to make sure we tried all the flavours!).
